This past week I had the opportunity to travel to Florida with my two best friends for the Miss High School America pageant! It was a trip of a life time! I am proud to sponsor such an incredible pageant for BOLD Sunless Tans and Ellie L. Illustrations. I was there to spray tan a few of the contestants, from which I learned that no one knows what I look like, or that I have other jobs.
When I graduated from college, I still had 7 months of being Miss Nebraska USA. It was hard to keep a "normal job" when my schedule was still full of appearances and traveling. With my history of skin cancer, busy schedule, and my mom's entrepreneur skills, I decided to buy a franchise. I discovered BOLD Sunless Tans when I was in Vegas competing for Miss USA. Kamela Brewer, the founder of BOLD, gave me the greatest spray tan I have ever had, and I was hooked! It allows me to travel and meet some of the most interesting people, not to mention I can have a fabulous tan wherever I go! I read somewhere that the average millionaire has seven sources of income. I love to work! But I guess when you love what you do you never work a day in your life. On top of Ellie L. Illustrations and BOLD, I also work as a communications and development coordinator for a non-profit childcare center in St. Louis. I am so lucky that all my jobs bring me so much joy and allow me to do what I love most, travel!
Luckily the trip wasn't all work. On Thursday, Ellie Holtman, Miss Missouri USA 2013 and my sister, Maddie Lorenzen, ventured to Magic Kingdom. We found out that Liam Payne from One Direction was there too! I am embarrassed to admit, but One Direction is my guilty pleasure, and my sister and I freaked out when we ran into him... twice! I thought that was the highlight of my trip until we went to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios. IT WAS AMAZING! I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and it exceeded my expectations!
The Miss High School America Pageant was an incredible pageant to be a part of. Megan Gordon, Miss Collegiate America 2014, Lexi Collins, Miss High School America 2014, and Riley Spicker, Miss Jr. High America 2014 were the absolute sweetest girls and I wish them all the best in the future! I also want to congratulate the new 2015 titleholders and I cannot wait to recreate your gorgeous gowns.
Lots of Love,
